The 2010 EUROHOLD Balkan League champions - BC Levski Sofia are set to defend their title in the upcoming Final Four in Kavadarci, Macedonia. Last season in Universiada Hall in Sofia, the "Blues" won the title after beating Lovcen Cetinje (65:77).
Levski qualified directly to the Final 4, finishing on the top spot in Group A with a balance of seven wins and only one loss. The team′s only loss came in the third round against OKK Beograd away in Belgrade (82:79). They won all of their games by 10 or more points, except their last one in Mostar when they won by only 8 (76:84).
Aaron Harper is the team′s best scorer for the second straight season - 17.5 points per game along with 4.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Donald Cole adds 13.3 points per game, while the team captain Stefan Georgiev adds 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds. Priest Lauderdale has been a force since his arrival, and for three games he averaged 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots.
In the semifinal Titi Papazov′s boys are facing the other Bulgarian team who reached the Final 4 - BC Rilski Sportist Samokov, who won their quarterfinal series against OKK Beograd (2-0). The semifinal is set for 17.00 local time in Jasmin Hall in Kavadarci, on the 15th of April.
"All of our players are healthy, we don′t have any injury issues an everybody will travel to Kavadarci. I hope that we left all of our bad games behind and we will be able to defend our title. It won′t be easy because it′s hard to play in Kavadarci, and yet the semifinal game will be really interesting." said Konstantin Papazov for levskibasket.com.
