Road to the Final Four: BC Rilski Sportist

Today we are going to present you the last participant in the Final 4 in Kavadarci - the champion of the first edition of EUROHOLD Balkan League - BC Rilski Sportist. The team from Samokov is reaching the Final 4 stage for second time, as in the previous season Rilski was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Levski.
 
Rilski Sportist finished 3rd in Group B, with a 4-4 balance. The team attained two very difficult victories over the Romanian representative Mures with a shots in the last seconds, so probably they were the key for the 1/4 finals. Also the team were left by their head coach for the past 3 years - Aleksandar Todorov in the middle of february and the Bulgarian specialist Rosen Barchovski replaced him. Barchovski is also head coach of the Bulgarian National Team.
 
In the 1/4 finals the former champions faced the hard team of OKK Beograd - tipical representative of the Serbian basketball school with a lot of traditions in the country. In the first game in Belgrade, Rilski had a 18 point lead at the half, but need a overtime to took the victory. In the second leg, the Bulgarians has no problem, leading from the first minute and after 66:57 deservedly close the series.
 
Ivan Lilov is the team leader with an index of 19.5. He records 20.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists for his team. Serbian power forward Vladimir Mijovic followed him with 12.2 points and 8.0 rebounds, but he made only 6 appearences this season. Mijovic has the best three-point percentage- 59.5%around his team-mates.
 
In the first semi-final tomorrow in Jasmin Hall in Kavadarci, Rilski is facing their rivals Levski in the Bulgarian derby. The game will start at 17:00h local time and will be live on sportmedia.tv and Bulgarian National TV.
