KK Feni Industries finally passed the stage which didn’t manage to in the previous two Final 4, reaching the final of EUROHOLD Balkan League for the first time. In front of 2500 spectators in the full Jasmin Hall in Kavadarci, the local side played an excellent game against the Montenegrin Mornar Bar – 82:75 and deservedly will fight for the trophy in Sunday against the champions from the first edition of the tournament – BC Rilski Sportist, who defeated BC Levski in the “Bulgarian“ semi-final earlier today.


 The game started with a fast offensive plays for both sides, as Jelenic and Ivanovic for Mornar and Darko Sokolov from the hosts scored three-pointers, followed by a lay-up by Feni’s tallest man – Dusan Knezevic. Nikola Ljulic made another three and after a successful fast break from Nikola Jovanovic, Mornar were ahead by 5 points, 5 minutes before the end of the first period. In the next 3 minutes Feni impressed with a 15:3 series and got a solid 7 points lead. Ivan Jelenic scored an incredible 3 pointer in the last second of the quarter, setting the score to 21:19.

 

At the beginning of the second period Mornar’s best player in EUROHOLD Balkan League this season - Nemanja Radovic opened his scoring stats with lay-up. Feni scored their first basket in the quarter 6:33 minutes before the end – Dime Tasovski made a three-pointer. Mornar managed to tie for 25:25, but Marjan Gjurov, who was out almost whole season with a bad knee injury was perfect behind the line – 28:25. In the remaining minutes, nobody succeed to built a bigger than 5 points lead, as the break comes to 38:36 in favor of Feni. Darko Sokolov has most points for the hosts, scoring 12 in the first two periods. On the opposit side Ivan Jelenic has also 12.

 

After the half-time the game started with technical fouls for the two coaches – Feni’s Emil Rajkovic and Mornar’s Djordje Pavicevic. In the third quarter Feni continued to have a small lead, as the team from Kavadarci couldn’t go ahead with more than 4 points.On the other side young squad of Mornar tried to stay close to their opponents. In the 25th minute, the Montenegrins even managed to tie the score – 46:46, but the hosts continued with their good efforts in this quarter, making a 7:0 lead for 53:46 three minutes before the end of the period. Mornar gave a fast response, answering with a two successful offensive plays – lay-up by Ivan Jelenic and a basket and a foul from Sarajlija. The former player of Olimpija Ljubljana made a three pointer and tied the score once again in the game. In the next attack Darko Sokolov was fouled by Nemanja Radovic, but made only one free-throw – 55:54. 8 seconds before the whistle for the end of the quarter Slobodan Mihajlovski got injury in his knee and his substitution – Dime Tasovski made two free-throws
for 59:56 after 30 minutes on the court.

 

 

 Mornar started the decisive period in the best possible way, as in their first attack Djordje Gagic made a dunk and was fouled, but he missed from the free-throw line. Two fast breaks from Darko Sokolov set the score to 63:59 for Feni, and Mornar’s coach Djordje Pavicevic took time-out 7 minutes before the end of the game. After it the euphoria in the gym climbed extremely, as Dime Tasovski scored his second three-pointer in game. Excellent combination between Tasovski and the American forward Jarrid Frye give to Feni the biggest lead in the game – 70:61, 5:45 minutes before the final whistle. In the remaining minutes, the young Montenegrin team from Bar made a lot of attempts to decrease their trail, dropping the difference to only two points – 72:70 with 2 minutes of play. In this period Feni’s players took a lot of stupid decisions and could even lose the game because of that. After a time-out 

first Jarrid Frye and then Darko Sokolov set the score to 76:70 in the last minute of the clash. Marjan Gjurov made the most important shot in the tonight’s game 42 seconds to the end, scoring an incredible three-pointer for 79:72. Final score of these hard battle comes to 82:75. In Sunday Feni is going to face Rilski Sportist, team which has been defeated two times in the regular season by the Macedonia champion.
