Serbia won the gold medals at the 2011 Universiade in Shenzhen

Serbia won the gold medals in the basketball tournament at the 2011 World University Games in Shenzhen, China. In the final game Luka Pavicevic′s squad defeated Canada by 13 points - 68:55. In that way the Serbian side defended their title from the previous Universiade, which was held in Belgrade in 2009.
 
The Canadians defeated Serbia in the group stage of the tournament, but the "Maple Leafs" didn′t had what it take to do anything more in the final game.
 
Mladen Jeremic led the Serbian side with 17 points in the final game. Vladimir Lucic added 11, while Marko Ljubicic finished with 9.
 
Nathan Yu and Tyson Hinz scored 14 points each for Canada in their team′s defeat.
 
In the game for 3rd place, Lithuania overcame Russia 76:74 and won the bronze medals.
