EuroBasket 2011: Macedonia are going to an historic semifinal, after defeating Lithuania

Macedonia is without any doubt the biggest sensation at EuroBasket 2011. Last night they continued to provide Europe with shocking news - this time the victim was the hoste of EuroBasket Lithuania, which was defeated 67:65 by Macedonia and will play for the places from 5th to 8th. Macedonia on the other side moves on to the semifinals.
 
Vlado Ilievski sank a three-pointer with 11 seconds remaining, to give Macedonia a 67:65 lead, which would end up being the final result of the game.
 
Bo McCalleb scored the most points for the winning side - 23. Vojdan Stojanovski shot 5/5 from long range, in order to finish with 15 points, while Vlado Ilievski added 12 points, including a game-winning shot.
 
Robertas Javtokas scored 13 points for Lithuania.
 
In the semifinal on Friday, Macedonia will face the defending champion Spain, who cruised 86:64 past Slovenia.
 
This is the second time for Macedonia, playing in the Final Round of EuroBasket, as in 2009 they finished ninth, while now they are going to have a chance to win a medal.
