2011-2012 Team Preview: KK Ulcinj

KK Ulcinj is the other Montenegrin team in the 2011/2012 edition of the EUROHOLD Balkan League. This will be their second straight season in the BIBL, as they made their debut in the competition in 2010/2011.   Just like the other Montenegrin side in the Balkan League - Mornar, Ulcinj also rely mainly on young and talented players from the Balkan region.   In their debut season in the Balkan League, KK Ulcinj managed to go through after the group phase and reached the quarterfinals of the competition. Howevere there they were defeated 2-1 in the best of 3 series by their neighbours from Ulcinj.   The team was left by some key figures in the offseason, such as Sinisa Tepavcevic, Aleksandar Radulovic and Radoje Djurkovic, but it seems like the management got some pretty good replacements.   For the upcoming season, Ulcinj will have two American big men - Poll Patrick (210 cm) and Rickey Young (204 cm). They also added Marko Kuveljic who has two seasons of BIBL experience with the teams of Lovcen and Mornar.   Last season Ulcinj finished fourth in the regular season in the Montenegrin League, and lost in the semifinals of the playoffs. The team′s best performances in the local championship are being runners-up in the regular season in 2009.   The team was founded in 1976 and plays it′s home games in JU Gimnazija Gym.
