OKK Beograd continues the team tradition to play in the EUROHOLD Balkan League, as this will be the club′s third consecutive participation in the competition. They made their debut in 2009/2010, and reached the quarterfinals in their first year. In the second season, they once again reached the quarters, but in both years got eliminated.
OKK is all about tradition, as the club was founded in the distant 1945. This was the first club of the legendary Serbian basketbal player Radivoj Korac. The team has finished first in the Serbian championship seven times, as back in 1960 they also won the Cup.
Last season OKK finished seventh in the Serbian Super League.
The team relies mainly on young and talented players. Last season Slobodan Dundjerski was the team′s locomotive in the BIBL - 9.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.8 steals in 8 games. Dragan Mitrovic and Srdjan Zivkovic were scoring 10.6 and 10.0 points respectively, while.
However only Dragan Mitrovic remained in the team from those three. This season the newcomers are Filip Sepa (198-G-1990), Vuk Malidzan (188-G-1988), Milos Suzic (205-C-1988) and Rajko Kljajevic (207-F-1985). Nenad Misanovic once again is starting the season with OKK, just like last year, when the 217-cm tall center left just after three games.
OKK Beograd is in Group A of the 2011/2012 EUROHOLD Balkan League with the teams of Rilski Sportist (Bulgaria), Galil Gilboa (Israel), KK Torus - SC Boris Trajkovski (Macedonia), KK Mornar (Montenegro) and BC Timisoara (Romania).News
