Newcomers KK Torus and KK Mornar Bar tip off the 2011/2012 season today in Skopje

The 2011/2012 season of the EUROHOLD Balkan League is starting today. The opening game is in Skopje between the teams of local side KK Torus - SC Boris Trajkovski and Montenegrin KK Morna Bar. Tip off is set for 17.00 local time, as the game will be broadcasted live on Sportmedia.TV.
 
KK Torus are the third Macedonian team to ever play in the BIBL, after the current champion KK Feni Industries and Rabotnicki Skopje. This will be Torus′ debut in an European club competition, as in their history so far they haven′t participated in one.
 
They have a pretty good and balanced roster, including young talent mixed with experience. Slobodan Petrovski is the team′s head coach, as on the roster there are names such as Macedonia NT player Ivica Dimcevski, veteran forward Pero Blazevski, former KK Feni center Bojan Trajkovski, Nikola Karakolev and Serbian center Ilija Milutinovic, and also two Americans - Phil Turner and Justin Reynolds.
 
Mornar on the other side once again are relying completely on talented local youngsters. Last year they reached the Final Four of the BIBL, and this year the squad′s average age is even younger than last season - 20 years and 4 months. Mihailo Pavicevic is the team′s head coach, as the more notable names on the roster are 22-year old Nikola Ivanovic, who has a silver medal from the BIBL with the team of Lovcen in 2010, Mirza Sarajilija, Lazar Radosavljevic and also Jamaican point guard Akeem Scott.
 
The opening game of the 2011/2012 season is set for 17.00 local time in Skopje, Macedonia and will be broadcasted live on Sportmedia.TV and also on Macedonian Kanal 5 TV.   The management of KK Torus decided to put free entry for the game tonight, so a lot of spectators are expected in the 10.000 arena in Skopje.
