KK Torus - SC Boris Trajkovski get a hard fought win in Timisoara

KK Torus - SC Boris Trajkovski achieved their first ever win in the EUROHOLD Balkan League. The players of head coach Slobodan Petrovski had to fight hard in their away game against BC Timisoara in Romania, but at the end they were the victorious side, after Jovan Markovski scored the last and decisive basket of the game for 72:74.The Macedonian side were the more active team during the opening quarter of tonight′s game. After 10 minutes of play they held a deserved 2-point lead - 21:23. BC Timisoara, supported by their fans, who filled the Sala Constantine Jude Hall tonight only managed to decrease the difference by one point at halftime. Torus were still ahead halfway through the game - 37:38.
Torus got off to a flying start of the third period. They made a 2-7 (39:46) run in the opening four minutes of the quarter, before Pero Blazevski scored a three-pointer, to give his team a double-digit lead - 39:49. Timisoara striked back with five unanswered points, bringing the gap to 5 points (44:49). However Torus were keeping a good lead in the next minutes, as with 1:55 left they were up by 10 again - 48:58. The home side scored 9 unanswered points in the following less than 2 minutes and the difference was just one point - 57:58 after three quarters of basketball.
Timisoara started the fourth quarter playing really strong and tight defense. They scored the first four points, grabbing a 61:58 lead after baskets by Archie and Popescu. Zlatko Jovanovic extended it to 64:58 with a three. Torus had a quite good response - a run of seven unanaswered points in the next 3 minutes, which gave them a 66:68 lead with 2:25 remaining.
Bogdan Popescu tied the game at 68:68, 1:45 before the end. Ivica Dimcevski gave Torus a 68:69 lead, making one free-throw with 1:35 left. In the next offense Dominique Archie made a huge turnover, as the officials called a travelling violation. Zlatko Jovanovic put Timisoara ahead 70:69, making two free-throws with 55.1 seconds left. Ivica Dimcevski scored a three-pointer, as he was left wide open and made it 70:72. Zlatko Jovanovic once again scored 2/2 from the charity stripe and the score was 72:72 13.9 seconds before the end. Jovan Markovski delivered in the very last seconds of the game, scoring the winning basket for Torus, as his team celebrated a 72:74 win - their first ever in the BIBL.
Dimitar Karadzovski led Torus with 20 points, including 5 three-pointers. Jovan Markovski and Ivica Dimcevski added 12 points each, while Justin Reynolds scored 11 points and had 8 rebounds.
Bogdan Popescu scored 24 points for Timisoara, while Zlatko Jovanovic added 20. Robert Sarovic finished with 11 points.
KK Torus - SC Boris Trajkovski are now second in Group A of the EUROHOLD Balkan League with a balance of 1-1. Timisoara sufferedtheir second straight loss, and they dropped down to fifth place with a balance of 0-2.
An interesting fact - both teams′ next BIBL games are against the same opponent. Timisoara are hosting OKK Beograd on the 15th of November, while Torus are doing the same thing, just a week later - on the 22nd.
