Hapoel Tel Aviv defeated Galil Gilboa in what happened to be the Balkan League derby game in the 1/8 finals of the Israeli Cup. The game that was played in front of 1500 spectators in the full Hadar Yosef finished with a victory for the home team by 8 points - 67:61.
 
Galil Gilboa, who are playing in the top Israeli competition - the Loto League led against National League side Hapoel Tel Aviv 31:32 at halftime, but after a strong performance in the second half, the home team turned things around and got their deserved 69:61 victory.
 
Yonathan Skjoldebrand had a good game for Hapoel, finishing with 16 points. Veteran guard Cory Carr added 11 in the win.
 
Joseph Jones scored 22 for Galil Gilboa, Chaisson Allen had 11 and Christopher Thomas finished with 10 in the team′s losing effort.
