BC Timisoara stunned OKK Beograd away from home

BC Timisoara stunned OKK Beograd in their game from the EUROHOLD Balkan League, handing the Serbian team their fourth loss in the competition. The final score was 75:84.OKK Beograd were without Luka Drca and Jovan Koprivica, so the other players had to step up and fill their spots tonight. The home team started the game good, getting a quick 4:0 lead after four points by Mirko Kovac. They extended their lead to 7:2, as it was Bogdan Popescu who scored the first two points for Timisoara tonight. Halfway through the first period OKK maintained their five-point lead, as they were ahead 12:7 with 4.37 to go. Until the end of the quarter BC Timisoara made a 6:11 run and found themselves ahead by 2 after 10 minutes - 16:18.
Mirko Kovac made a three early in the second period, giving OKK a one-point lead - 19:18. The home team kept on pushing and extended their lead to six points - 26:20 with 7.23 left in the half. Zlatko Jovanovic scored a three for 26:23, but OKK Beograd would go for a 7:0 run in the next two minutes, getting their first double-digit lead of the night 33:23 with less than five minutes to go. Timisoara scored six straight points, dereasing OKK′s lead to 33:29 before Vuk Malidzan made two free-throws for 35:29. The Romanian team was playing strong in these minutes, as they managed to get the lead - 37:38 after two made free-throw attempts by Sime Spralija one minute before halftime. Halfway through the game Timisoara held a two-point lead - 39:41.
After the start of the third period, Timisoara continued to play good, extending their led to 7 points - 39:46 with 7.53 remaining. OKK Beograd decreased their deficit down to three points (43:46), but Timisoara once again managed to break away, scoring 11 points against just 4 for OKK in the next minutes, and leading by 10 points - 47:57 less than 3 minutes before the end of the quarter. The Romanian side extended their lead to a game-high 14 points - 49:64 with 21 seconds remaining. After 30 minutes the score was 52:66 in favor of the visiting club.
Things were looking bad for OKK early in the fourth quarter as just around three minutes after the start they were already down by 22 points - 52:74, after Timisoara started the last period with 8 straight points. Less than six minutes before the end the difference was 24 poitns - 56:80, but OKK scored 13 straight points, decreasing it down to 11 - 69:80 with less than four minutes left and still hoping for a chance to turn things around. However despite OKK′s tries, it was Timisoara who came out victorious tonight - 75:84 and their second wil in the 2011/2012 EUROHOLD Balkan League.
Zlatko Jovanovic and Ivan Siriscevic led BC Timisoara to the win tonight, scoring 22 points each. Sime Spralija added 17 in his debut for the club, while Branko Cuic had a solid all-around performance - 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
Mirko Kovac and Nemanja Bezbradica both scored 19 points each in OKK′s home loss. Milos Suzic was the only other player to score more than 10, fininishing with 14 points in 19 minutes of playing action.
Timisoara improved to 2-4 after this win, sharing the same balance as OKK. However in the direct games between the two teams Timisoara has two wins and is currently fourth in Group A, while OKK are fifth.
