Feni won dramatically in Bar and advanced to the Final 4 after 2-0

KK Feni Industries will have a shot of defending their EUROHOLD Balkan League title, after they defeated KK Mornar 82:83 in the second game of the Quarterfinal Play-offs and advanced to the Final 4. Ivan Lilov became the hero for Feni, as he scored the game-winning three-point shot in the very last moments of tonight’s game. The first game finished 92:85 in favor of Feni.

In the opening minutes of the game neither side could break ahead of the other, as in the first two minutes, the two teams were tied a total of three times, before Mornar managed to go on a 6-0 run, leading the game 12:6 with 6.27 remaining. Feni responded with eight points in the next 2.53 minutes, against just two for the home team, and the score was tied once again – 14:14 with 3.34 left in the first quarter. Lazar Radosavljevic scored a three for 17:14, but Jarrid Frye quickly cut the difference down to one, after making two free-throws for 17:16. Until the end of the quarter Mornar scored 8 points against 6 for Feni and led 25:22.

Mornar extended their lead to seven, after Andrej Pajovic made two free-throws and Nikola Ivanovic added a two-pointer for 29:22, a minute and a half into the tsecond quarter. The home side remained ahead of Feni in the next minutes, as they didn’t let their opposition cut the difference to more than 5 points. Mornar led 33:27 with 6.09 to go. Halfway through the second period, Mornar were ahead by 7, as Ivan Jelenic scored a three for 36:29 with 5.06 on the clock. Feni managed to cut the difference down to three – 37:34 with 4.09 left, and once again – 41:38 with 2.49 to go, as Ivan Lilov was having strong minutes. Feni kept their momentum going, and tied the game at 44:44 just 28 seconds before halftime. However Mornar scored five straight points, and were up 49:44 halfway through the game.

Ivan Lilov made a three and Dusan Knezevic added two points, making the score 49:49 with 8.35 to go in the third quarter. However Mornar responded with six straight points, getting the lead back – 55:49. The home side remained in control, as they added two more points to their advantage, leading by eight – 59:51 halfway through the third period.Mornar continued to push and got their first double-digit lead of the game – 63:53 with 1.41 to go, but Ivan Lilov scored a three, bringing the difference back to single digits (63:56). After three quarters, Mornar had a 65:59 lead.

Mornar started the fourth quarter strong and at one point extended their lead to 11 points – 70:59, just 59 seconds after the start of the last period. Feni made an 8-2 run, decreasing the difference down to four points – 72:68 with 5.54 left in the fourt quarter. The defending champions Feni continued to play strong, and made another scoring run, making six points, against just two for Mornar, as the score was tied at 74:74 with 2.20 left. Darko Sokolov made one of two free-throws, giving Feni their second lead of the game  74:75 lead with 1.43 remaining. Michael Singletary scored two free-throws, giving Mornar a 76:75 lead, before Dusan Knezevic scored for 76:77 (1.15 before the end). Ivan Jelenic converted two free-throws (78:77), and after a miss by Darko Sokolov, Michael Singletary scored two more points – 80:77 – 25 seconds before the end. Jarrid Frye made one free-throw (80:78) and missed the second, but after an offensive rebound, Ivan Lilov tied the game at 80:80 with 6 seconds remaining.

Lazar Radosavljevic gave Mornar an 82:80 lead, but Ivan Lilov responded with a last-second three-point shot, giving Feni the win – 82:83.
 
This was Feni′s second straight win in the series, as they will now face a well-known opposition in the semifinals of the BIBL - BC Levski Sofia. In the first game of the quarterfinals Feni won after OT (92:85) and after tonight′s success, they closed the series at 2-0.
 
Once again Ivan Lilov was the top perfomer for Feni - 21 points, 5 assists and 2 steals, as he shot 5/7 from long distance and 2/2 for two points. Dusan Knezevic added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, while Jarrid Frye finished with 13 points, 4 assists and 7 rebounds. Kiril Nikolovski also scored 13 points.
 
Ivan Jelenic led Mornar with 24 points and 6 assists, while Michael Singletary scored 13 points, added 5 rebounds and had 3 assists. Nikola Ivanovic scored 13 points, and Lazar Radosavljevic had 11.
