Avner Kopel: We will play again next season

The president of the Israeli Basketball Association - Avner Kopel spoke to balkanleague.net about the past season, which was the first one with Israeli teams in the Balkan League.   "The EUROHOLD Balkan League is important for Israeli basketball, because they are at the same level. I think that we are a good match from both economical and professional point of view. We are quite close to the participating countries and the travelling is not that expensive."   "I′m happy that the two Israeli sides played in the Final Four, and the good thing is that they come from two different divisions, not only from the top league. It′s good for us and the fans, everybody is having fun."   "I′m really satisfied with the Balkan League, because the competition gives us an opportunity for our teams to play at an international level, to gain experience, to learn from one another, and this is also good for the fans. I think that in 2-3 years the League will be amongst the top regional competitions in Europe."   "Of course that we will play next season. The Sports Director of the League Shay Shtriks is developing the BIBL all the time and there are money being invested, so it will be an honour for us to have teams in the competition."
