KK Brod-Svjetlost (Croatia) and CSM Bucharest (Romania) will join the EUROHOLD Balkan League for the upcoming 2012/2013 season. The Croatian club already has one year of experience in the BIBL, playing in the competition during 2010/2011, while the Romanian side will make their debut, replacing last year′s Romanian team - BC Timisoara.   KK Brod-Svjetlost had a good season in the top Croatian league - A1, finishing in sixth place.   CSM Bucharest also performed good in the Romanian league, finising in seventh spot, and qualifying for the playoffs where they lost 2-3 to Timisoara in the first round.   Also Levski Sofia and Rilski Sportist Samokov, both teams from Bulgaria will continue playing in the EUROHOLD Balkan League for the fifth year in a row.
Galil Gilboa, the defending champions and Hapoel Tel Aviv, participant in the Final Four have interest in remaining in the BIBL and will most probably do this. There will be two Israeli teams in the Balkan League, and besides those two there is interest from two different sides from Israel as well.   KK Feni Industries will most probably also continue their participation for the fifth straight season, as the BIBL is still waiting for their confirmation. There are other two teams from Macedonia which have interest in playing in the competiton - Lirija Skopje and Gevgelija. However there will only be two Macedonian teams in 2012/2013.   KK Mornar Bar, the young and talented Montenegrin side will continue with their participation, while the new name from Montenegro is Teodo Tivat, the team which is replacing KK Ulcinj.   OKK Beograd will be one of the Serbian participants, while the second team′s name isn′t clear yet.   There is an idea about Lukoil Academic and MZT Skopje - the champions of Bulgaria and Macedonia to play in the Balkan League, but there′s nothing formal at this point.   A couple of teams will play in the BIBL for the fourth and fifth straight season, which shows that the League is moving in the right way, and developing really good.
