Maccabi Rishon Le-Zion has interest in joining the BIBL

Maccabi Rishon Le-Zion has interest in joining the EUROHOLD Balkan League for the upcoming 2012/2013 season. Maccabi can become the second Israeli team in the competition for the upcoming season along with the reigning champion BC Galil Gilboa.

The Sports Director of the BIBL – Shay Shtriks is currently in Israel where he is in talks regardint the name of the second Israeli participant in the competition. The president of the Israeli Basketball Association – Avner Kopel approves the idea for Maccabi Rishon to play in the League.

The club has declared that they are really interested in joining the competition, as there was a meeting between their management and Mr. Shtriks.

The two sides will meet again next week and then it will be clear if this team will join the BIBL.

Last season Maccabi Rishon Le-Zion finished third in the Israeli Premier League with 15 wins and 10 losses.
