Team on Focus: KK Djuro Djakovic

KK Djuro Djakovic is back in EUROHOLD Balkan League after a season away from the competition. The team from Slavonski Brod was a part of the league during 2010/2011 season but lost all nine of its games. Now KK Djuro Djakovic is entering EUROHOLD BIBL with higher goals and will be trying to achieve better results. The team from Slavonski Brod will count mostly on local players and added only one foreign player. This is Swedish center Brice Massamba who will be the tallest guy on the team.
Matej Kljaic and Josip Blajic will be given the keys to run the offense of the team but both will receive help at the point guard position from other players as well. Kljaic is still only 18 years old, needs some experience and for sure the games in EUROHOLD BIBL will help him with that. Blajic is the starter at point guard for the moment but Petar Zivkovic and Denis Toroman will have minutes as well at that position.
Zivkovic and Toroman are mostly wing players and will also be important for the team in that position but there are also Marko Batina and Krunoslav Rimac. The last two are few of the main players of the team and will be helping their young teammates with their experience. Rimac and Batina will be very important in the team′s offense.
Under the basket Brice Massamba and Marko Bakovic are the ones who will be getting most of the minutes. The Swedish center is going to play his first season in Europe after spending the last year in NCAA. Bakovic is still 19-years old but is 206 cm tall and will be a serious presence in the frontcourt. The other big guy in the team is Marino Sarlija and he will play his role as well.
KK Djuro Djakovic is in group A with the teams of KK Kumanovo 2009, KK Mornar, BC Galil Gilboa and BC Levski. Surely it will be a hard task for the team of Slavonski Brod to reach the top 6 of the league. Krunoslav Krajnovic is the head coach of the team and KK Djuro Djakovic already started with a win the local championship. The team defeated Zabok 77-63 behind 18 points by Marko Batina and 17 by Krunoslav Rimac.
