Ljubislav Lukovic, head coach of KK Kumanovo 2009: We proved that our place is in this league

KK Kumanovo 2009 started its adventure in EUROHOLD Balkan League with a home win. The team defeated KK Mornar 71-69 in front of competition′s record 5000 people in the hall. After the game the head coach of the hosts - Ljubislav Lukovic said that his team proved that belongs to the league:
"We proved that Kumanovo′s place is in this league. This is not only because of this win but also how the basketball in Kumanovo was presented. I think that we learned a lot from all of this and I can say that after this game Kumanovo can play in EUROHOLD Balkan League. Finally we took a big that will stimulate us even more for the next matches where I will expect better play from my team. This is just the start of the season, it′s good for us even though it was lucky. But overall we deserved to win this game."
The hero for KK Kumanovo was Aleksandar Kostoski. He scored the winning basket with 3.4 seconds to play and after the game he said:
"I′m happy with the win but not with the way we won. I think that we should have decided the game much earlier and not in our last offense. We had a big 15-point lead but allowed the other team to come back in just a few minutes. It′s good that we had the nerves and remained calm even after missing two free throws in the final minute. At the end of the game we had luck as well the Mornar′s last shot. But fortune favors the brave and we were brave enough in this game which was the first for us and it wasn′t easy to play."
