Rilski Sportist won its 50th game in EUROHOLD Balkan League

BC Rilski Sportist took its second victory in group B of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team from Samokov won at home against OKK Beograd by 104-86 in its 50th ever game in the competition. In the next match Rilski will host KK Kozuv on November 13th while OKK′s next game is away at KK Kozuv on November 21st.
Both teams exchanged baskets in the first minutes and Rilski was the first team to pull ahead. After a 6-2 run the lead went up to 6 points in the middle of the quarter but quickly after that the visitors managed to cut the deficit. They did come close to just 2 points with two minutes to play but Rilski finished the first quarter on a 9-0 run and took a 31-20 lead.
Rilski kept the double digit advantage in the first minutes of the second quarter but OKK came back with a 6-0 that cut the deficit to 5 points with 05.14 to play in the half. The hosts managed to stop the run but soon the team from Belgrade cut the deficit to only 2 points. Rilski once again did pull away and took a 7-point advantage and after Stanislav Vaklinov scored the last basket of the first half it finished 55-46 in favour of BC Rilski Sportist.
OKK started the second half with a 6-0 run that put them down by just 3 points. However Rilski responded to the challenge and later made an 8-0 run that broght the lead to 13 points. It even became 14 but OKK responded with a three-pointer. In the next two offenses by Rilski Terry Smith three alley oop pаsses to Hristo Zahariev and Stanislav Slaveykov respectively and the lead went up to 15 points. It stayed like this after the end of the quarter which came at 76-61.
In the last ten minutes the hosts had total control of the game. After they made a 10-0 run their lead went up to 24 points with more than 5 minutes to play. After that Rilski had no problems and won the match with a good margin.
Terry Smith was the top scorer for the winners with 28 points as Braxton Dupree added 25 and 15 rebounds.
For the visitors Jovan Koprivica had 19 points while Milos Pavlovic finished with 16 and 9 rebounds.
