KK Kumanovo with important win at home

Second victory in group A of EUROHOLD Balkan League took KK Kumanovo 2009. The team won at home against KK Djuro Djakovic by 83-67 and took one more important step in the road to Top 6 in the competition. The hosts had very good end to the game and even built a big lead that could prove to be very useful. After this round KK Kumanovo has 2 wins and 1 loss while KK Djuro Djakovic is with a 1-3 record. Next week on November 14th KK Kumanovo 2009 will host BC Levski while on the same day KK Djuro Djakovic will welcome BC Galil Gilboa in Slavonski Brod.

Both teams scored in the first few minutes but Kumanovo made a 9-0 run and managed to take a 15-8 lead. Marino Sarlija scored for the visitors and stopped the bad moment but the home side was playing better and increased the advantage. Kumanovo finished the first quarter on a 10-4 run and the team 25-12 lead.

In the second the hosts continued to have an advantage and but KK Djuro Djakovic tried to come back in the game. The visitors managed to close the gap to just 4 points but the home team went up by 10. The visitors though finished the quarter with a 10-2 run and cut the deficit to just two points at the break - 41-39 for KK Kumanovo.

The visitors started better the second half and even took the lead. The team from Slavonski Brod went up by 5 points three times but in the last three and a half minutes of the quarter the visitors didn′t score a single point. On the other side KK Kumanovo made a 9-0 run and after 30 minutes the team led 59-55.

The game stayed close in the last quarter but after the third minute the hosts made a decisive 16-3 run capped by Aleksandar Kostoski three pointer that put the team up by 16 points with 01.50 to play. The lead even went up to 18 points before the visitors scored the final basket in the match.

Top scorer for the winners was Ivica Dimcevski with 24 points. Very good game had Aleksandar Kostoski who had double double with 19 points and 11 rebounds making also 7 assists.

For the visitors Denis Toroman had 19 points while Marino Sarlija added 17.
