KK Kumanovo 2009 defeated BC Levski in a big match at home

Very important win in group A of EUROHOLD Balkan League took KK Kumanovo 2009. The team played an inspired game and defeated BC Levski 87-80 in front of 5 000 people. This puts Kumanovo with 3 wins and 1 loss while Levski now has 2-1 record in the group. On November 20th KK Kumanovo will visit KK Mornar while next game for The Blues from Sofia is on December 6th at home against BC Galil Gilboa.
The visitors had much better start to the game and they went on to a 17-6 lead with three minutes to play in the first quarter. In those final minutes though the hosts took advantage from some mistakes by Levski and came right back in to the game and were down 17-20 after the end of it.
In the second quarter continued to have the small lead but with three and a half minutes to go in it KK Kumanovo tied the score. Levski responded with 6-0 run and later took a 36-32 lead at the break.
The second half started very well for the visitors as they made an 11-2 run and had 13-point lead. Then Kumanovo made a 10-0 run that was stopped by Chavdar Kostos′s triple but the hosts were right back in to the game. Still BC Levski had the lead until the end of the third quarter which finished 61-58 for the team from Sofia.
The come back was completed with a little more after three minutes from the start of the last quarter when Marjan Janeski scored two free throws to put the hosts up by 1 points. Levski once again took the lead but Kumanovo made an 8-0 run and with three and a half minutes to play were up by 5 points. This proved to be decisive as until the end the hosts closed out the game and won for the delight of the local fans.
Ivica Dimcevski had very strong game and finished with 29 points and 7 rebounds. Uros Lukovic recorded a double double with 16 points and 13 rebounds while Dejan Mikic had 11 points.
For the visitors who were missing Nikolay Varbanov and Pavel Ivanov, top scorer was Chavdar Kostov with 25 points. Stefan Georgiev had 20 and 9 rebounds and Zlatin Georgiev added 14 points.
