KK Djuro Djakovic won against KK Mornar, keep its chances alive

Second win in group A in EUROHOLD Balkan League took KK Djuro Djakovic (Slavonski Brod, CRO). The team visited KK Mornar (Bar, MNE) and won the match by 70-63. This puts Djuro Djakovic with 2 wins and 4 losses and is keeping the chances of the team to reach the Top 6 still alive. KK Mornar is now with 1 victory and 5 losses and will most likely play in the group with four teams. Next game for Mornar is on December 18th when the team will play away at BC Galil Gilboa while KK Djuro Djakovic has two more home games that will be played after the New year.
KK Djuro Djakovic had a strong start to the game and thanks to good defense the team scored the first 9 points and later took a 16-6 lead. However it was almost erased until the end of the first quarter as Mornar finished on a 7-0 run for just over a minute and the visitors led 16-13 after ten.
The team from Slavonski Brod started the second quarter very good like the first one and took an 11-point advantage. However the hosts responded with a 13-2 run and tied the score. They didn′t took the lead as Djuro Djakovic answered with 8 straight points before Nikola Ivanovic scored for Mornar and at the end of the first half the visitors were up 38-32.
The visitors had the advantage for the whole third quarter as the lead was going up to 9 points and down to 4 a few times. After the end of 30 minutes KK Djuro Djakovic had a 9-point lead and the team kept the advantage in the last quarter. A few times KK Mornar cut the deficot to just 2 points. The last time was with 1.42 minutes to play but it was also the last basket for Mornar as in the decisive moments the visitors had the better and won the match.
Double double for the winners had Brice Massamba who finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Matej Karlovic and Marino Sarlija added 13 points apiece as Josip Blajic had 12.
For the home team Mihailo Sekulovic finished with 14 points and Lazar Radosavljevic added 10.
