Levski is victorious at home against Galil Gilboa

Third win in group A of EUROHOLD Balkan League recorded the team of BC Levski (Sofia, BUL). The Blues defeated BC Galil Gilboa (Gan Ner, ISR) and took a partial revenge for last season. The teams met in the final of the competition eight months ago and Galil won dramatically in overtime. After this match Levski has 3 wins and 1 loss while the team from Gan Ner suffered second straigh defeat and has 4-2 record.

In the first quarter Levski managed to pull away and took a good lead. The hosts made a 9-0 run that put them up 22-11 and then they kept the advantage. After ten minutes Levski was up by 11 points and in the second quarter the home team continued to increase the advantage. It went to 20 points but Galil scored the last 5 in the first half and it finished 46-31 in favour of Levski.

After the break the visitors went out determined to try a comeback but never succeeded. Levski had control of the match and the lead didn′t went down under 10 points. In the last seconds of the quarter the hosts scored the final 5 points and after 30 minutes were up 71-54. Things didn′t change in the last quarter as Levski continued to lead by double digits. In the final moments the visitors managed to reduce the deficit and make the margin smaller but it was too late and Levski hung on to take an important victory.

Marko Marinovic had a big game and scored 32 points for the win while Dimitar Dimitrov added 14 off the bench.

For the visitors Jamar Smith was the top scorer with 17 points as 15 added Mitchell Watt.
