Domestic leagues: Wins for Levski and Rilski Sportist

BC Levski (Sofia) and BC Rilski Sportist (Samokov) continue to be tied for second place in Bulgarian championship. They had their seventh victories in the league this weekend and now will be looking to do the same in the last round for 2012 as well. Both teams have a 7-2 record and are 1 win behind the leader Lukoil Academic.
On Friday Rilski Sportist defeated Beroe at home by 87-81. The team started bad and was down 0-8 but soon took the lead. It went up to 16 points but later Beroe cut the deficit to just 2. However the hosts didn′t panic and finish off the game. Top scorer for the win was Hristo Zahariev with 25 points while Terry Smith added 16.
Levski won at home against Chernomorets by 90-81. After a strong first quarter The Blues took a 14 point lead at the break but in the second half the visitors didn′t give up. They cut the deficit to just 3 points but then Levski managed to close out the match. Marko Marinovic was the best with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists while 13 points apiece had Chavdar Kostov and Stefan Georgiev.
