OKK won dramatically against Rilski Sportist at home

OKK Beograd (Belgrade, SER) won its second straight home game in group B of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team defeated Rilski Sportist (Samokov, BUL) 83-82 at home. The game was won in the last seconds after Aleksej Nesovic scored a free throw. Despite the loss Rilski Sportist is sure for the top 6 and now has a 4 wins and 3 losses record. OKK in the same time is 2-5 and has one more game againts KK Teodo on January 16th. A day earlier Rilski will host BC Kavala.

Rilski Sportist got off to a better start and took an early 8-1 advantage. In the next minutes the team held on for the lead but with a Milos Pavlovic three-pointer the hosts went in front. This was part of a 13-3 run for OKK to finish off the first quarter with 8-point lead. In the second quarter the hosts went up by 10 points but Rilski soon cut the deficit. Until the end of the first half OKK had a small advantage without allowing their visitors to overcome them and at the break were ahead by 5 points, 45-40.

In the third quarter OKK continued to be in front as Rilski went as close as 3 point a few times. The last one was with 02.40 minutes to play but the hosts finished the quarter on a 6-0 run and took a 64-55 lead for the last ten minutes. This quarter started very well for the visitors as they made a 9-2 run and closed to 2 points their deficit. OKK answered but 7 straight points for Rilski put the team in front. The visitors led until the last minutes when Aleksej Nesovic tied the score. Terry Smith put the visitors in front but Milorad Sutulovic answered with a 3-pointer and then OKK even went up by 3 points. Later Branko Mirkovic tied the score with a 3-pointer and Aleksej Nesovic made one free throw to seal the win for OKK.

Aleksej Nesovic and Ivan Marinkovic were the top scorers for the winners with 16 points apiece while Milos Pavlovic added 15 and 11 rebounds.

For the visitors Branko Mirkovic had 24 points while Anthony Gugino added 23 and 14 rebounds.
