Domestic leagues: Levski won the derby against Lukoil Academic, Rilski with easy victory at home

The team of Levski is now tied for first place in Bulgarian league. The Blues from Sofia defeated the current champions Lukoil Academic 85-78 at home and now both teams have 10 wins and 2 losses at the top of the table. This was the first win for Levski against this opponent for almost an year as the last one was on January 27th 2012.
Levski had the lead after the first quarter but in the second Lukoil had good minutes and went up 33-25 after 13-3 run. However the hosts managed to turn the score and had a 39-38 lead at the break. In the third quarter Levski continued to have the advantage and despite all the attempts by the visitors at the end The Blues were victorious.
Marko Marinovic and Chavdar Kostov were the top scorers for the winners with 20 points apiece and Nikolay Varbanov added 12 and 12 rebounds.
A day earlier Rilski Sportist defeated Spartak Pleven at home by a score 94-74. This win leaves Rilski in third place in the standings with 8 wins and 4 defeats.
The team from Samokov had no problems as they decided the game in the first half. The hosts made a 14-2 run that increased their lead to 22 points and they kept it until the end.
Hristo Zahariev was the top scorer in the game with 24 points as 21 added Terry Smith.
