Kumanovo 2009 lost to Djuro Djakovic but went to Top 6

KK Kumanovo is through to the Top 6 from group A in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team lost away to KK Djuro Djakovic by but finished third in the group and is going to fight for a place in the Final Four. Both teams finished with 4 wins and 4 losses but Kumanovo won the first game by 16 points and therefore has the advantage in the direct matches. This means that the team goes to Top 6 with a 2-2 while Djuro Djakovic will play in the Last 4.
The first half of the game was very even with the hosts having the lead for most of the time. However it wasn′t bigger than 7 points and Kumanovo was very close. At the halftime break Djuro Djakovic had a lead of 3 points and after a good start to the second half they went up by 8. With a little to go in the third quarter the hosts were up 72-62 but Ivica Dimcevski scored two free throws to make it 72-64 after 30 minutes.
The hosts started good the last quarter and after a 5-0 run took a 13-point lead and came closer to those 16 points they needed to win by to go to the next round. The visitors though answered with a 6-0 run that cut the deficit down to just 7 points and in the last four minutes the hosts never led again in double digits. At the end the difference was 7 points and Kumanovo celebretad with going through to Top 6.
Toni Brnas was the top scorer for the hosts with 23 points. Hrvoje Puljko had 22 and 6 rebounds while Marino Sarlija added 15 points.
For the visitors great game had Aleksandar Kostoski who scored 6 triples on his way to 30 points. Ivica Dimcevski added 19 points and Uros Lukovic had a double double with 10 and 11 rebounds.
