First win for Rilski Sportist in Top 6

Rilski Sportist recorded its first win in Top 6 of EUROHOLD Balkan League. At home in Samokov the team hosted KK Kumanovo 2009 and won 88-75. This means that now both teams have equal record of 3 wins and 3 losses after the second round. Next game for Rilski Sportist will be on March 7th at home against BC Galil Gilboa while on February 27th KK Kumanovo will host BC Kavala.
For the first time Rilski pulled away with a 7-0 run in the first quarter that made the score 14-7. The visitors responded and cut the deficit to 2 points but until the end of the quarter the hosts increased the advantage to 7. Rilski continued to have the lead in the second one as well and the team didn′t give a lot of chances to Kumanovo. The hosts increased the advantage to 14 points with minute and a half to play in the quarter but the visitors fought back and finished on a 7-0 run to make it a 7-point game after 20 minutes.
Rilski had a small lead in the first minutes but at one point the team made a 9-0 run and once again the advantage went up to 14 points. Kumanovo managed to cut the deficit to 8 points but after 30 minutes the hosts had a lead of 12. In the last quarter the lead never went below 10 points as Rilski controlled the game. The home team was up by 20 at one point and after the final buzzer the difference was 15 points.
Top scorer for the win was Branko Mirkovic with 21 points as he added also 6 assists. Terry Smith had 18 points while Braxton Dupree added a double double with 16 and 11 rebounds.
Double double for the visitors with 26 points and 14 rebounds had Uros Lukovic. 18 points scored Aleksandar Kostoski while Ivica Dimcevski had 9.
