Kozuv defeated Djuro Djakovic and is now on top in the Last 4

KK Kozuv (Gevgelija, MKD) is now on top in the Last 4 of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team defeated Djuro Djakovic (Slavonski Brod, CRO) away by a score 89-72 and went to the first place in the second group of the tournament. The team from Gevgelija now has 4 wins and 0 losses while Djuro is with a 3-1 record. In the next game Kozuv will visit KK Mornar on March 19th while the team from Slavonski Brod will host OKK Beograd on the same day.
It was an even start to the game and it was like this for the first eight minutse. The home team though finished much better the first quarter and after scoring 8 straight points took an 18-9 lead after ten minutes. In the second quarter the things changed drastically. Kozuv tried to cut the deficit and with four and a half minutes played they tied the game. Shortly after that the visitors made a 13-0 run which gave them 11-point advantage and at the halftime break it was 9.
For the whole third quarter Kozuv managed to hold on to its lead as it was around 10 points. The visitors decided the game in the last quarter when they increased the advantage and cruised on to take the victory.
Kozuv had a very good shooting night as their three-points decided the game. They made 9 triples out of 21 attempts compared to 3 from 21 for the home team.
Top scorer for the winners was Aleksandar Sterjov with 17 points. Miladin Pekovic added 16 points while 13 had Dimitar Karadjovski.
For the home team Toni Brnas finished with game-high 27 points. Marko Batina had 16 points as Matej Karlovic scored 10.
