Big win for Galil Gilboa in Kavala

BC Galil Gilboa took a very important win in Top 6 of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The current champion in the competition played away at Kavala and took the victory by a score 94-75. By this victory Galil took revenge for the home defeat by Kavala more than a month ago and took a big step towards Final 4. Now the team from Gan Ner has 4 wins and 3 defeats while Kavala has 3-5 record. Next game for Galil is on Thursday against Rilski Sportist while Kavala will visit Levski in Sofia next week.
The game was even for the first five minutes when the score was 10-10. Then the visitors made a big run and with 14-3 took a big lead. Still the hosts scored a triple to end the first quarter but in the second Galil managed to increased the lead even more. The most of the time the advantage was around 10 points until the visitors made a 9-0 run to take a 20-point advantage and at the halftime break it was 18 at 47-29.
With three minutes to go in the third quarter Galil still had a comfortable lead of 15 points. At that points the hosts managed to  make an 11-2 run which cut the deficit to 6 points and gave them a new chance. However Amit Simchon scored a triple for the visitors to make it a 9-point game after 30 minutes.
The visitors made two three-pointers to start the last quarter and that decided the game. Until the end of it Galil had no trouble in winning and even had a 23-point advantage with three minutes to go.
Galil Gilboa had a great shooting night making 41 from 69 attempts for 59%. The team also scored 11 three-pointers  as the top scorer was Yaniv Green with 18 points. Dagan Yivzori and Jamar Smith each had 15 points including three triples. The team also had just 3 attempts from the free throw line making 1 of them.
For the home team David Tairu had 19 points and 7 rebounds. Kieron Achara added 13 and 8 while Sotirios Manolopoulos added 12 points. The home team had 27 made free throws from 35 attempts while making 10 from 27 triples.
