Levski with a comeback overtime win in a very interesting game against Teodo Marko Marinovic

Levski is still the only undefeated team in Top 6 of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The Blues from Sofia had a very tough game at home against Teodo from Tivat and won 90-82 in overtime. The visitors had a big advantage at one point and missed the chance to win in the regular time. In the extra five minutes the hosts did better and got away with the victory. Both teams played a very interesting and entertaining game  which was a big battle from start to finish.

It was another good match to watch in Top 6 as both squads deserved to win. Next game for Levski is on March 12 at home against BC Kavala while will host BC Galil Gilboa on March 20. Levski now has 5 wins and 2 losses in Top 6 and is almost certaing for its place in Top 6. Teodo on the other hand has a 2-5 record and needs three wins until the end in order to have a chance of qualifying.

Levski had a better start to the game and took an early 11-3 lead. Later it become 10 points as the score was 18-8 but then the visitors started to shoot very well and made a 12-0 run which gave them a 2-point advantage. The home team tied the score but Bojan Boskovic made a triple to give Teodo a 23-20 lead after ten minutes.

In the first few minutes of the second quarter both teams exchanged baskets and the margin stayed the same. The visitors though managed to score 11 straight points which gave them a big lead at 39-25. They held on to the double digit advantage in the next few minutes but the first half ended with a better play from Levski. Stil the difference wasn′t small as Teodo lead 44-36 at the break.

Teodo continued to have the lead in the third quarter as well and when Manuel Johnson scored a triple it became 13 points at 53-40.  Then Levski responded with 11-0 run to cut the deficit to just 2 points but Srdjan Subotic made a three-pointer for the visitors to give them some air. The home team answered with a triple but Aleksandar Radulovic scored at the buzzer and after 30 minutes Teodo was up 58-54.

The fourth quarter opened up with two straight three-pointers for Chavdar Kostov which gave Levski the lead at 60-58. The visitors responded with a triple of their own and one free throw and they managed to retake the lead but not for long as Kostov drained another one from the three-point line. Then both teams exchanged baskets as Levski was scoring only three-pointers in those minutes. With 02.51 minutes go to Igor Kunjic scored a basket and one free throw to give the lead to Teodo by 2 points. Immediately though Marko Marinovic scored another triple but Radulovic didn′t miss from the free throw line for 72-73 in favour of Teodo. Then the teams exchanged triples but with 01.24 minutes to play Marinovic gave Levski one point lead. Bojan Boskovic though restored Teodo′s advantage by 2 points but Nikolay Varbanov tied the score with 33 seconds to go. Then Sinisa Tepavcevic missed for the visitors but they grabbed the rebound and had 10 seconds to attack. Teodo missed their chance and the game went to overtime.

Levski scored 4 straight points to start the extra time as the visitors missed 5 from 6 attempts from the free throw line. Then Dimitar Anguelov scored twice and later made a two-pointer with 60 seconds to go that sealed the victory.

Chavdar Kostov was the top scorer for Levski with 25 points making 6 triples, including 4 in the last quarter. Pavel Ivanov also played well with 21 points as Dimitar Anguelov added 16.

For the visitors Aleksandar Radulovic had 16 points and 9 rebounds before fouling out. Marko Mijovic added 13 points and 13 assists while Bojan Boskovic also had 13 points.
