Adriatic League vs. Balkan League in the Macedonian Cup Final

KK Kumanovo 2009 qualified for the final of the Macedonian Cup. The team met the other EUROHOLD Balkan League participant - KK Kozuv and won dramatically 92-87. In the other semifinal MZT Skopije defeated former EUROHOLD Balkan League champion - Feni Industries 74-66 and is through to the final as well. This means that for the trophy will be fighting a team from the Adriatic League against a team from the Top 6 of EUROHOLD Balkan League.
Kozuv started great the game and with deadly three-point shooting went up 29-10. The team scored seven triples in a row in the first quarter but Kumanovo closed the gap to 8 points at the end of it. In the second one Kozuv continued to have the lead and at the breat they were up 13 points, 58-45, after shooting 9/10 from the three-point line.
Kozuv had a lead of around 15 points in the third quarter but at the end of it Kumanovo scored two baskets to make it an 11-point game heading in to the last ten minutes. With less than five to play Kumanovo cut the deficit to just 2 points and then Ivica Dimcevski tied the game. Kozuv responded with another two triples but Aleksandar Kostoski answered with the same and his three-pointer gave Kumanovo its first lead of the game at 88-87 with one minute to go. In the final seconds Kozuv didn′t score and Kumanovo went on to the final for the delight of its fans.
Aleksandar Kostoski was the top scorer for the winners with 28 points as Ivica Dimcevski added 25. The team had 22 three-point attempts and made 10 of them.
Kozuv also shot 22 times behind the 3-point line and scored 14 of them. Vladimir Filipovic had 6 triples from 7 attempts on his way to 22 points while 17 points apiece had Slobodan Bozovic and Miladin Pekovic.
The games were attended by Sports Director of EUROHOLD Balkan League Mr. Shay Shtriks and the Competition Manager Mr. Kamen Toshev. They met the management of KK Kumanovo 2009 regarding the Final 4 of the tournament. From the club have a very big interest to host the event and have already applied to do so.
