Rilski Sportist won the last game in Top 6 of EUROHOLD Balkan League

Top 6 of EUROHOLD Balkan League ended with another dramatic game. In the last match from the group stage Rilski Sportist won away against Galil Gilboa 85-84 and finished with 5 wins and 5 losses in third place. Kumanovo has the same record but Rilski won both meetings between them. However in the semifinals Rilski Sportist will play Levski because both teams are from the same country while Galil Gilboa will meet Kumanovo.

The home team had the lead for most of the game but Rilski didn′t allow them to pull away by a lot of points. A few time the visitors managed to tie the game as this happend with two and a half minutes to play. Then the hosts scored but Rilski responded with 6-0 run to take the lead. In the decisive seconds the visitors managed to keep it and the final score was fixed with a buzzer beating three-pointer by Omer Levi from the home team.

Top scorer for the winners was Hristo Zahariev with 19 points. Terry Smith added 16 as Stanislav Vaklinov had a double double with 15 and 10 rebounds.

For the home team Kenny Hayes had 29 points and Rackeem Sanders added 24 and 13 rebounds.
 
Today there was a meeting of the top Israeli players, including the ones of Galil Gilboa, and this is why the team used its juniors plus the American players. EUROHOLD Balkan League gave special permission to the team play like this but it was only for this game because the local players were on strike in the last few days.
