BC Galil Gilboa will meet KK Kumanovo 2009 in the opening game of the Final 4 in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The final tournament starts today in Samokov as both teams will play the first game. It starts at 18.00 hrs local time and will be broadcast LIVE on BNT World, Sportmedia.tv on internet and on Israeli TV channel ONE.
Galil is looking to become the first ever team to win EUROHOLD Balkan League in two straight season. The current champions of the competition are the favourite to go through to the final and will be trying to confirm that status in today′s game. The team will not use Shawn Taggart today as they have five American players and can use only four of them. So far in the competition Jamar Smith is the top scorer for the team with 17.1 points as he is averaging 3.8 assists. Kenny Hayes is with 12.2 points and 3.9 assists while Rakim Sanders is averaging 11.8 points and 5.8 rebounds.
A big blow for Kumanovo 2009 is the absence of Ivica Dimcevski. He got injured a few weeks ago and his loss will for sure take its reflection on the team. He was one of the best players in the competition so far averaging 15.4 points and 4.8 rebounds. However for sure his teammates will play very hard and will try to make the surprise. Aleksandar Kostoski will be the main offensive weapon as he is having 17.7 points in the tournament so far. Uros Lukovic is the only player in EUROHOLD Balkan League averaging a double double with 16.2 points and 11.3 rebounds and his presence will also be important.
Both teams met twice this season and each registered one win. This promises a great battle tonight and an interesting to watch for the fans.
