Levski defeated Rilski Sportist and for the first time EUROHOLD Balkan League′s champion will not be the host of the Final 4

Levski won the second semifinal of EUROHOLD Balkan League against Rilski Sportist by 84-74 and is set to play its second straight title game in the tournament. The Blues from Sofia had a great start to the game, led from start to finish and defeated the home team of the Final 4. This means that for the first time in the history of the competition the winner will not be the host of the Final 4. In a repeat of the final from 12 months ago Levski will meet Galil Gilboa on Sunday 21st of April while Rilski Sportist will play Kumanovo 2009 in the game for 3/4 places.Levski started very good the game and took an early 11-3 lead. Then Rilski took a time out and Braxton Dupree scored after that but the team from Sofia answered with 11-0 run and took a big advantage of 17 points. Until the end of the quarter they managed to keep it and after ten minutes Levski was up 24-9.
In the second quarter the team continued to hang on to its advantage and it went as high as 19 points but then Rilski made a 6-0 run to cut some of the deficit. In the next minutes Levski held on to its double digit lead but a miskate near the end of the half helped the home team close the gap to just 9 points. Marko Marinovic answered with a great triple at the buzzer and after 20 minutes Levski was up 43-31.
In the second half Levski continued to have a double digit advantage and didn′t allow Rilski to close the gap under 10 points. Near the end of the quarter the visitors made a 7-0 run which made the difference 21 points and after 30 minutes they were up by 19. In the final quarter Levski scored the first basket but then Rilski made a great 14-0 run that cut the gap to just 7 points. That run was stopped by Marinovic triple but Branko Mirkovic scored one of his own right away. Levski had the next 5 points and increased the lead to 12 but then the bench received a technical foul, Rilski scored 6 straight points and the game was back on. However Marinovic scored three free throws from four attempts and in the last 100 seconds Levski wasn′t caught. Top scorer for the winners was Pavel Ivanov with 21 points. Mladen Pantiс added 18 and 6 rebounds while Marko Marinovic was with 16 points and 7 assists.
For the home team Branko Mirkovic finished with 20 points while 13 apiece added Terry Smith and Stanislav Vaklinov.
