Shay Shtriks: Levski and Rilski Sportist proved that a team playing late internationally is better prepared for the playoffs

The participation of Levski and Rilski Sportist in EUROHOLD Balkan League helps both teams to perform well in the Bulgarian championship at the moment. This is the opinion of the Sports director of the competiton Shay Shtriks who congratulated both squads for their play. Here is what he had to say for the teams regarding their participation in the playoffs:
"It′s a fact that Levski and Rilski Sportist - the teams that participate in EUROHOLD Balkan League, reached the last stage of Bulgarian league in the most deserving, may be for a lot the most unexpected but surely the most interesting way after semifinals in five games. In the last seven years that never happened to Lukoil Academic and now the merit goes to Rilski Sportist. Right now the score in the Finals is tied at 2-2 and Levski did something that Bulgarian fans have not seen for more that 10 years. All this is proving that a team playing international competiton until the month of March or April, with a minimum of 10 games with teams from other countries, comes better prepared and with confidence to the playoffs in the local championship.
Here is the place to congratulate the team of Balkan and its coach Aleksandar Todorov for their great performance. As far as I know unofficially they have ambitions to return to EUROHOLD Balkan League from next season and with their play in the last month, they proved that would be a good opponent to every team.
I think that there must be and it would be very good to have third Bulgarian in EUROHOLD Balkan League but this we are going to discuss and decide with the local federation. We have to see if there is a team that wishes to be a part of the leagne and what conditions need to be fulfilled in order for this to happen. This will help not only the level of the local championship but it will help also the development of the Bulgarian referees who will have more games and therefore more experience.
I wish Lukoil Academic and Levski, teams that so far are showing great basketball, good luck on Monday and let the better and more deserving team win the game. Their success is important for Bulgarian basketball."
