Georgi Glushkov, president of Bulgarian federation: EUROHOLD Balkan League is very important for the development of the young players in the region

EUROHOLD Balkan League is important for Bulgaria and the proof is the growing of Rilski Sportist, a team that left great impression during the playoffs. This is what was said by the president of Bulgarian federation Georgi Glushkov who didn′t want to give any predictions before the last game between Levski and Lukoil Academic which will decide the champion:

"I′ve always said that EUROHOLD Balkan League is something beautiful for Bulgaria and for other countries which cannot afford to have teams in other European competition. This one is exactly for us, the distances are not big and in the same time is very well organized. In general it gives a chance to Bulgarian teams to grow and this could be seen in Rilski Sportist. The squad from Samokov was part of the tournament and grew as a team during the season. In general EUROHOLD Balkan League proved itself as a respected competition.

I want to thank Mr. Assen Christov who creates great conditions for our teams to participate. I can say that thanks to him, Mr. Shay Shtriks and Mr. Kamen Toshev, we have a regional tournament that is moving forward, is developing and is becoming very important for the development of the young players in the region. We don′t know yet how many teams there will be in the next season but every one the league makes a step ahead which is very important.

It will be very good if teams from Bulgaria have the resource to complete a roster of 12 players in order to play in EUROHOLD Balkan League. It′s important for us to see if there is a possibility to have a third team in the competition but we are going to discuss that very soon.

Game 5 between Lukoil Academic and Levski is now a real final game and all the previous ones need to be forgotten. I cannot predict the outcome as I′m sure both teams will fight until the end."
