Rosen Barchovski: EUROHOLD Balkan League increased the level of our team

Rilski Sportist finished the season with three third places and this has made very happy the head coach of the team Rosen Barchovski. Here is his opinion about the season and also about how EUROHOLD Balkan League is helping the development of his players:
"I′m happy with our final result. I′m even happier with the way we played which not only was victorious but attractive as well. We could have done something big and reach the final where I′m sure we would have played very well.
We found a way to stay calm before the third game against Balkan and even were telling jokes to each other before it. I was convinced that it wasn′t necessary to speak tactically and in this game we played disciplined and team basketball.
The participation in EUROHOLD Balkan League has one big advantage and one big disadvantage. The big plus is the rhythm a team gets in to. There are more games, more often and you don′t wait from Saturday to Saturday. You play against other foreign teams and this helps. You get experience this way - I as a coach and the players as well. This is of big advantage for everybody. The bad thing is when the players get tired or there are injuries but this happens to all the teams that play in additional international competitiions. In general I think there are more positives about this league.
Surely EUROHOLD Balkan League increased the level of our team. It still doesn′t have such a popularity but I think that it′s a very good competition. It′s a mutual process. The league itself increased our level, we increase the level in Bulgaria and in the same time we increase the level of the league because we and Levski are from the top teams in the tournament. The competition is very good and I hope it continues to develop.
There is no doub that a third Bulgarian team in EUROHOLD Balkan League will help increase the level of the local championship as well. These are internatiional games, which leads to interest and popularity for the basketball. This is additional experience, additional interest from the media and that leads to interest from the sponsors as well. I hope that Balkan can also join the competition."
