SCM Universitatea Craiova will join EUROHOLD Balkan League for the new season

Romania will be back with a represantative in EUROHOLD Balkan League. SCM Universitatea Craiova will take part in the competition in the next 2013/2014 season and will make its debut in the regional tournament.

Romania missed one season in EUROHOLD Balkan League as the country didn′t have a team in 2012/2013. Now SCM Universitatea Craiova will join the list and will take part in the competiton.

SCM Universitatea Craiova finished 4th the regular season in Romanian championship. The team then went to the playoffs but lost to Gaz Metan Medias. Craiova was also eliminated from the Romanian Cup after losing to Sibiu. It was the team′s best season in its history so far.

The team plays its home games in the brand new "Sala Polivalenta Craiova" with attendance of 4 000 people. Head coach of the team will be Andelko Mandic who signed a contract for the new season and will lead the team in third straight year. President of SCM Universitatea Craiova is Mr. Bogdan Balan and Manager is Marius Toma.
 
The Sports Director of the competition - Mr. Shay Shtriks will travel to Romania in two weeks where he will have an official meeting in Craiova with the team management, with representative of the federation and members of the municipality. In that trip to Romania will be discussed also the possibility to have a second team from that country for the next season. There is an option that BCM U Pitesti to play in EUROHOLD Balkan League but nothing is official yet.
