Arben Fetahu, Board member of KB Sigal Prishtina: This competition is very important to us

The upcoming season in EUROHOLD Balkan League will be the first one for the team of Sigal Prishtina in a competition outside Kosovo. The club will participate in the tournament and of course will try to make a good impression. Here is what one of the Board members - Arben Fetahu, had to say about his team joining the league:

"As you know Prishtina has a well established team and we′ve been champions for many many years, as well se both National cup and Supercup winners, so we were looking for new competitions and new challenges. We thought that measuring our strength with some teams of similar strength, would help ours to develop. What is most important for us is that we need some international competition for our players in order for them be able to measure themselves. The team has worked a lot and is preparing for this international competiton. This is the first competition of a kind for us and it′s very important to us and we have taken it very seriously.

I would say that basketball is perhaps the most popular sport in Kosovo. We have at least 4 or 5 strong teams from at least 4 or 5 different cities. It′s well spread and there have been some investment. I would say that both Prishtina and Peja will be strong competitors in this competition. We have good local players and I think we hired good international players that will help us.

From this season we expect to be good in the competition. I would say that a Top 6 standings for us will be a success in our first year.

When we joined this league we said that we are going to be hear for at least this season and the one after. This is some sort of a test season for us and we hope that we can meet the expectations of this league. The project we embarked in Prishtina is a 4-year project. There is a new managament from June and the new mandate is for 4 years. Being part of EUROHOLD Balkan League is just one part of that large project.
