Two matches today to start the new season in EUROHOLD Balkan League
15-10-2013 | 09:31
The new season in EUROHOLD Balkan League will start today with two games. First at 18.00 hrs (CET) Teodo is hosting Balkan in Tivat (MNE) and an hour later Kozuv will welcome in its own gym Peja. Both games will be LIVE on Sportmedia.tv.
Teodo and Balkan will fight in this match in order to start in the best possible way the new season. Both teams are yet to play an official game and this will be the first chance for their fans to see them in real action. Teodo will rely a lot on the experience of Savo Djikanovic under the basket who will receive help there by Manuel Johnson, Armon Brown and Bojan Boskovic. The point guard will be Darrell Lamply and on the wing the talented head coach Slobodan Savovic will rely on Nikola Vucurovic, Igor Kunjic and Srdjan Subotic.
On the other hand Balkan has a completely renewed roster with only two players left from the last season- Stanimir Marinov and Martin Marinov. There is a new captain in Pavel Marinov and Ivan Lilov is returning to the competition having won it before and been twice in the Final 4. Under the basket there are Peter Sedmak, Noah Dahlman and Gabe Knutson who will have to stop the hosts from getting easy points.
In the second match today Kozuv will host in Gevgelija KB Peja. The Macedonians started their local league with victory during the weekend and come with confidence to the match but Peja will have  to improve its play as the team was beaten by Sigal Prishtina in the derby of Kosovo. The hosts are going to try and reach the Top 6 this season and to do so will need to start with a win. The team is pretty much the same as last year as once again Igor Mijalovic, Vladimir Filipovic, Dimitar Karadzovski and Miladin Pekovic will be the go to guys for the coach Marjan Srbinovski. Of course Slobodan Bozovic, Zlatko Gocevski and Aleksandar Shterjov will protect the paint and we can say that Kozuv has a decent roster.
KB Peja will make its historic international debut today. The champions of Kosovo are about to play in their first international competition and it will be a tough start. However the team has experience with Fred House, Samir Saptahovic and Mirza Ahmetbasic in the roster alongside good local players. The Croatian Vedran Morovic is also here and the head coach - Daniel Lutz is bringing confidence and good knowledge of the game.
