Teodo won dramatically the first game of the new season

KK Teodo (Tivat, MNE) won the first game of the new season in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team played at home against BC Balkan (Botevgrad, BUL) and came up victorious 76-71 right at the end. In the next round Teodo will host the champions BC Galil Gilboa while Balkan will play away at Sigal Prishtina.
 
It was an even start but near the end of the first quarter Balkan did better and with 12-3 run took a 10-point advantage. It started to go down in the second quarter as Teodo even scored 8 straight points which gave the team a 7-point advantage. However in the last second of the first half Ivan Lilov scored a triple and the home team′s advantage was cut down to 4 points.
 
After the break Teodo pulled away by 8 points but Balkan responded with 9-0 run. However the hosts immediately hit 6 straight points but still were up by just 2 after the end of the third quarter. In the last ten minutes both teams were exchanging baskets and none could pull away. The game was decided in the final seconds where with 14 to play Igor Kunjic scored a triple for the hosts that broke the tie. Then Balkan missed a three-pointer and the game was over.
 
Manuel Johnson was the top scorer for the winners with 17 points as he added also 6 rebounds. Nikola Vucurovic had 16 points while Nikola Korac added 13.
 
For the visitors Pavel Marinov and Wes Eikmeier scored 18 points apiece.
