This week KB Sigal Prishtina will visit BC Galil Gilboa in round 3 of EUROHOLD Balkan League. Before the team departed for Israel here are some thought from the General Director Florian Miftari and the head coach Ceyhun Cabadak:
Florian Miftari, General Director: "Today we travel to Sofia, and day after we fly to Israel. As you know, we are playing against one of the toughest teams in BIBL. We are aware that their budget is way higher than ours, but due to our good organisation and good current condition, we are traveling there to win, not just to participate. Our aim is to let all of the basketball fans in Kosovo, Europe and World that we were always ready to be part of international competitions. The current table positions shows our ambitions and we go there to win, although we are well aware of the quality of our opponent, who are also one of the main title contenders for this season."
Ceyhun Cabadak, Head Coach: "As we know, currently we are playing in the league system, which is the same as other games that we have played so far. We have prepared our team in the same way as we were prepared for other domestic and EUROHOLD BIBL league games. We know that the previous season they were BIBL′s champions and we we have a lot of respect for them. They have very good players and higher budget compared to ours, but that that doesn′t count on the field, as we are playing 5 against five. We are prepared for this game and we are aware that it will be a tough one."
Asked whether two straight wins have motivated SIGAL Prishtina, Mr. Cabadak answered: "We have won only two games and we have another 14 important games. We just won two games, and we will work hard to win the others, but we have to do it game by game and step by step. At the end of the season, we will evaluate together."
We know that BC SIGAL Prishtina defeated opponents who are way much stronger than Gilboa, what are the odds for BC SIGAL Prishtina to win the game against Gilboa?
Cabadak: Cabadak: "At the end of the day, this is an away game for us in Israel and you have to be aware that we are not going there in very good conditions as we are traveling for around 17-18 hours, which is tough for a team. But this is not an excuse for us. If my players play the game that we exercised together, I am sure that we will win this game. We have to fight until the very end of the game."
Asked about Tay Waller′s condition, as he didn′t play in last domestic game against KB Kastrioti due to flue he said, "Waller is still ill, he is down with a flue. We still have many players who are not 100%, such as Dardan Berisha (flue) and two others who picked up some injuries in the last game, but that is not important who plays and who doesn′t, the important thing is that SIGAL Prishtina is playing and we will give our all in the field to win this important match." Since BC SIGAL Prishtina is one of the strongest teams in domestic league, it seems that they are way better in terms of organisation and playing level. Asked if this is a problem for him to prepare his team of BIBL, he answered: "I find it more difficult to prepare my team for the domestic games. As I already said to you, also you journalists are not being interested in your own league as you are doing for BIBL. You should also help us in making our league stronger and show more respect for it. If you cover the domestic league more, you will help in developing it even more and make it more interesting.
