First win for BC Balkan in the new season

BC Balkan (Botevgrad, BUL) recorded first win in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team played away at KK Kozuv (Gevgelija, MKD) and won the game 88-79. This victory will surely be a big boost for the team from Botevgrad and on the other hand Kozuv missed a chance to stay perfect as now has 2-1 record. In the next round Balkan will take a rest and then on November 19th will visit KK Kumanovo 2009. Kozuv though will host SCM U Craiova next week.

The first quarter was very even and it finished with the score tied but then Balkan started the second on a 5-0 run and pulled away. The team continued to have the lead until the end of the half and in the end even increased to 9. The second half started on an 8-0 run for the visitrs in less then two minutes as they increased the advantage to 17.  Kozuv responded well and made a run of 13-2 that cut the deficit to just 5 points and until the end it was Balkan leading and Kozuv trying to make a comeback. However the visitors managed to keep their advantage and celebrated the victory.

Top scorer for the winners was Ivan Lilov with 21 points as he added also 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Pavel Marinov had 18 points and 5 assists and Stanimir Marinov added 15 points and 7 assists.

For the home team 17 points apiece scored Austin Dufault and Slobodan Bozovic as Igor Mijalovic had 14 points.
