Second straight win for Levski

BC Levski recorded its second straight win in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The Blues from Sofia hosted KK Teodo (Tivat, MNE) and took the victory 91-85. It gives Levski 2-2 record in the league as Teodo now has 1 win and 3 defeats. Next game for Teodo is in two days away at Sigal Prishtina while next week Levski will visit BC Galil Gilboa.

Both teams exchanged baskets at the start and then with an 11-2 run Levski took a 17-11 lead. However Teodo responded well and until the end of the first quarter went in front. The visitors started the second with 8 straight points to take a double digit advantage but Levski quickly answered with a 12-2 run to tie the game. Then until the end of the first half none of the teams could pull away and it finished 45-44 in favour of Levski.

In the third quarter the hosts started hitting triples as they scored a total of 7 in those ten minutes. Teodo managed to respond to that in the first five but the last five of the quarter finished on a 11-2 run for Levski and the team took a 12-point advantage. With 4 minutes to play the hosts were up by 5 points but then quickly scored 5 in a row to once again make the lead 10. With 45 seconds to go Teodo scored a triple and cut the deficit to just 3 points and then even had the chance to come closer but lost the ball. Then Lionel Chalmers was fouled and he sealed the victory from the free throw line.

Levski scored a total of 16 triples which compared to Teodo′s 8 proved to be decisive.

Lionel Chalmers and Pavel Ivanov had 18 points apiece for the winners as Jumaine Jones was close to a triple double - 12 points, 19 rebounds and 8 assists.

For the visitors Savo Djikanovic scored 17 points.
