Third straight home win for Kumanovo 2009

KK Kumanovo 2009 recorded its third straight home win in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team hosted BC Balkan (Botevgrad, BUL) and won the match 87-73. This puts them on a 3-1 record while Balkan is now 1-3 after playing all matches away. Next week Kumanovo will host BC Galil Gilboa while Balkan will play at home against SCM U Craiova.Both teams exchanged baskets in the first few minutes but then the hosts made an 11-0 run that put them ahead by 9 points. They still led at the end of the quarter and then started the second on a 7-0 run to take a 17-point advantage. At one point Balkan managed to close the gap to 7 after a 6-0 run but still after the first half the home team was up by 11.
In the second half Kumanovo continued to have the advantage and shortly after the start of the fourth quarter it was 15 points. Then Balkan made a 12-2 run that allowed the team to come back in the game but the hosts answered with 11 straight points and decided the outcome.
Vukasin Mandic was the top scorer for the winners with 24 points. Royce Parran also performed well with 20 points and 6 assists while Ivan Miskovic added 17 points and 8 rebounds.
For the visitors 14 points apiece had Martin Marinov and Peter Sedmak.
