KK Kumanovo 2009 won an overtime thriller against BC Galil Gilboa

KK Kumanovo 2009 had its fourth straight home win in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team hosted the defending champions BC Galil Gilboa and took the victory in a thrilling game that was decided in overtime. The hosts won 99-92 and now stand at 4-1 record in the competiton while Galil is at 2-2. 
 
Kumanovo had a slight lead at the start of the game but couldn′t hold on to it as the visitors took their first advantage right at the end of the first quarter. In the second they pulled away by 8 points but the hosts responded with an 8-0 run to tie the game. After that both teams exchanged few baskets but still Galil had a 3-point lead at the break after a better finish to the half.
 
In the first six minutes of the second the visitors managed to keep their lead but it was very slim. Then the hosts made an 8-0 run to go up by 4 points but then the visitors scored the last 7 of the third quarter to take a 3-point lead. With four minutes played in the last quarter the game was delayed for a few with Galil leading by a single point and it turned out to be better for the hosts who scored the next 3 points. Galil added a free throw but a triple by Vukasin Mandic gave Kumanovo a 4-point lead with a little bit more that two minutes to play. The visitors had a chance to tie the score but DeShawn Sims was stripped of the ball with 57 seconds to go and then Royce Parran scored two free throws for a 4-point margin. Sims though responded with a triple and left his team with a chance with 38 seconds left on the clock. 18 seconds later Parran mande another two free throws but Sims scored another three-pointer to tie the game. There were 5 seconds left and first Kumanovo took the lead but then immediately Galil made an attack and Rick Jackson scored the sent the game to overtime.
 
In the extra time once again both teams exchaned baskets before a triple by Mandic gave the hosts a 4-point advantage. Galil answered with 2 points but then Marjan Mladenovic scored another triple and then two free throws by Ivan Miskovic decided the outcome with a minute to go as the difference went up to 7 points.   Royce Parran had a great game for the winners finishing with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists as Vukasin Mandic had 21 points.      Rick Jackson had 26 points and 8 boards for the visitors as DeShawn Sims added 16 points.
