Kumanovo 2009 won the Macedonian derby in EUROHOLD Balkan League

KK Kumanovo 2009 recorded an impressive home victory in EUROHOLD Balkan League. In the first game between the two teams from Macedonia, Kumanovo defeated KK Kozuv at home 74-58 and confirmed its position on the top of the standings. With eight games played Kumanovo has 6 wins and 2 losses while Kozuv has 4-4 record. This was the last game for both teams for year 2013.
 
Kumanovo played great defense in the first quarter when they allowed just 5 points. The hosts led 10-2 after four and a half minutes played and then they took a 9-point advantage after ten. The second quarter started on a 10-2 run for Kumanovo as the lead went up to 14 points and from that point on the home side controlled the game. At one point in the third quarter Kozuv cut the deficit to 7 points but Kumanovo didn′t allow and attempts for a comeback.

One of the main reasons for the victory was the free throw shooting. The hosts had 17 made of 20 attempts while Kozuv were just 8 of 16. Kumanovo also had a huge advantage in the category points off turnovers - 17 to 0.

Vukasin Mandic was the top scorer for the winners with 21 points. Ivan Miskovic had a double double with 13 and 14 rebounds as 12 points had Marjan Janeski.

17 points and 11 rebounds for the visitors had Slobodan Bozovic while Austin Dufault scored 10 points.
