SCM U Craiova with fourth victory of the season

SCM U Craiova won a hard fought game at home againts KK Kumanovo 2009. The hosts led from the first quarter but had a difficult ending to the game before coming out victorious 80-76 at the buzzer. This was Craiova′s 4th win so far as the team also have 5 defeats. Kumanovo on the other hand is with a 6-3 record in the competition.   The hosts played a very good first quarter and after an 11-2 start took a nice lead. Shortly after that they scored 8 straight points which increased the advantage to 13 and it stayed like that after ten minutes. In the second quarter Kumanovo played better defense which allowed the team to cut its deficit but with a 7-0 run in the third the hosts once again moved up to a double digit lead. After 30 minutes the hosts were up by 9 points and looked good but the visitors didn′t give up. By scored 7 straight points late in the game they cut their deficit to just 1 and then even had the chance to take the lead but Ivan Miskovic missed two free throws with a minute and a half to play. Then Andrei Capusan responded with two made and after Kumanovo two chances to tie the score, Nemanja Maric scored another two free throws to decide the game.   James Tyler was the top performer for the winners with 24 points and 18 rebounds. Andrei Capusan also played well with 15 and 9 as Mirko Kovac added 14 points and 7 assists.   Vukasin Mandic scored 26 points for the visitors while Darko Stanimirovikj added 14.
