Peja lead from start to finish to defeat Balkan

KB Peja recorded a good home win after downing BC Balkan 79-67. The hosts led from start to finish and even survived a little scare at the end to take the victory. The visitors were without their head coach Aleksandar Todorov who had to stay home. Next week Peja will host KK Kozuv while Balkan will visit BC Galil Gilboa. After this game the team from Kosovo has 3-5 record while Balkan stands at 3-4.Peja started better and quickly took an 11-2 lead that they kept until the end of the quarter. In the second Balkan cut the deficit to 2 but later the hosts made a 10-2 run to go up by 12 points and in the third quarter their lead was in double digits.
In the middle of the last Balkan started a 6-0 run that closed the gap to 6 points and the visitors had a few chances to come even closer but missed them. With 01.48 to play the hosts scored two free throws to end a 4-minute skid without a point and after The Greens missed their shot in the next offense, the game was practically over.
The hosts made 23 out of 38 attempts for 2-points while the visitors were 13 of 28. The Greens still made three more triples that the hosts but that wasn′t enough. Both teams though also made a lot of mistakes - 18 for Peja and 20 for Balkan.
Top scorer for the winners was Gerti Shima with 19 points as Samir Shaptahovic added 18 and 9 assists.
For the visitors Ivan Lilov had 16 points while Stanimir Marinov and Noah Dahlman had 11 apiece.
