Domestic cups: Kozuv and Kumanovo lost in the semifinals

KK Kozuv couldn′t overcome the big favourite MZT Skopje and lost the semifinal of the Cup of Macedonia. The team from Gevgelija lost 70-78 and for a second straight year was defeated before reaching the final.
MZT started good and built a 12-1 lead but soon Kozuv was back in the game. At the halftime break though MZT was up by 11 points and later the lead became 19. Kozuv though didn′t give up and closed its deficit to just 4 points and even missed a chance to come closer but missed it.
Igor Mijalovic had 12 points for Kozuv as Zlatko Gocevski scored 11.
In the other semifinal KK Kumanovo 2009 lost to Lirija 73-81 in a marathon match. It was stopped for an hour as there were troubles with the fans.
Kumanovo took a 9-point lead in the second quarter but Lirija answered with the next 5. At that point the game was stopped for an hour and the gym was emptied. Then Nemanja Vranjes was injured and Kumanovo lost a key player. At the end of the first half Lirija led by 1 points and after the third quarter by 1. With two minutes to go Lirija pulled away by 5 points which decided the outcome.
Vukasin Mandic had 27 points for Kumanovo as Royce Parran scored 13.
